Two native Hong Kongers, despite being 7000 miles apart, is united by their love of shopping and fashion.
We met in secondary school (middle school), year 8 (7th grade) during French class.
Carol:
Born and raised in Hong Kong, I lived in UK for 3 years before returning back to home to attend HKU. I have a confession, I am a shopaholic! Pay day is my favourite day of the month and my wallet hurts every time I pull out my credit card, which is VERY OFTEN. Even though I live in “surburban” Hong Kong, you will often find me in a mall. I am discovering an assortment of malls that is not your typical so I will be reporting back! Working in the financial service industry is funding this addiction mine! Shopping during travelling is the best but can only be done during the summer because I am deathly afraid of the cold- this will also be reflected in my outfits! An upcoming manicure appointment is always scheduled because my nails feel naked without colour. Other than on my nails, Fuchsia pink is my preferred shade in everything I own! I am not afraid to experiment with bright colours. Dessert is my closer for every meal, I would pick chocolate but since I am trying to watch my weight and Chinese desserts will do!
I use a Canon S90 for my photos
Celine:
I moved to Los Angeles to attend USC and have been here since 2005. Thrift store hunting and online shopping are my forte. The myriad of boutiques in Hong Kong has crafted my skills in price and product comparison. Headbands have become a part of me, and I find wearing skirts/dresses much more comfortable. Why can’t someone a little high-maintenance be in touch with nature as well? I would hike and camp anywhere when I am carrying my nikon, so I can take photographs with shallow depths of fields. Slightly germaphobic, I wash my hands much too often. Unable to swim, I have wake-boarded, jetskiied, bodysurfed and snorkeled. I do plan to scuba dive and white wateraft in the near future! Flying would be my superhero power of choice. Rollercoasters are so fun! I would do nearly anything that would give me an adrenaline rush. Weirdly enough, I enjoy being scared out of my pants but I prefer not to watch scary movies alone, or any movies for that matter. The tipping point where spicy food makes me sweat or cry is the best kick one can get, that’s why I find wasabi peas and seaweed addictive. I am good at following recipes but I’m bad at remembering them and I hate doing the dishes. Food is love, I am blessed with a fast metabolism and I like to try cuisines from different countries, but i ALWAYS go back to Chinese and Japanese food. I want to try authentic Italian pizza and go to Venice for my honeymoon. There’s way too many places I want to visit, and as an awesome travel planner, I jump at any chance to travel if it’s within my budget.Oh and I graduated with a degree in Business Administration/Marketing and have interned in two different fashion companies.
Standing at 5,2ft, 89lbs, I have a hard time to find things that fit me! I wear XXS or 00p and a size 5.5 in shoes
My photos are taken with my Nikon d80 with 35mm f/1.8, 12-24mm f/4 and 50mm f/1.4
Stellar-Parallax:
Parallax comes from the Greek word Parallaxis. It measures the difference in position of an object viewed from two different lines of sight by the angle of inclination.
In astronomy, stellar parallax is the effect of parallax on stars (hence stellar). This measure is used to determine the distance between the Earth and a star. Different orbital position of the earth results in a parallax. We thought this is fitting because there are two of us, in two different position of the earth. We have our opinions that we would like to bring to this blog.
